Installing The MOON Museum
Windows PC compatibles
If
you have a Windows PC connected to the Internet, please run this small
program called "Moonweb.exe." This will install the basic browser
and startup files for the MOON Museum. It is only about 3 megabytes
and pretty fast. When you connect to the Web, it will do the rest
to put you in touch with others on the Moon's South Pole as it might be
in the year 3000. You can visit live online all day every day.
If
you have a fast connection (T-1, Internet2), install the larger version,
called "Moonmuse.exe" to install the whole Museum (about 60 megs) and give
you higher performance.
Once
you have installed your MOON Project browser, you can connect to the Museum
anytime by clicking on the Lunar Museum icon on your computer's desktop.
The
MOON Project is compatible with Macintosh, Linux, Unix and Windows
computers using any standard web browser. Javascript, VRML, AVI,
WAV, MPEG, QT settings and/or browsers are recommended to view everything
here. This site also contains all necessary links to download The
MOON Project custom virtual reality browsers, maps, models, movies and
sounds, and here you may also email a request to obtain the mutual reality
Web-DVD that will play on a computer or a set-top DVD player.
The MOON Project is always open free of charge to all, so everyone can share awareness of our common heritage in space travel. This is a work of art, dedicated to the public welfare and the memory of the achievements of great people working together. |
